A person or a group of people can sign up to decorate a float that is reflective of their country of ancestry. The base floats will all be the same; however, residents will be given free rein to decorate as much and as elaborately as they wish.
The photo prompt is to create an image inspired by your own experience growing up as an Asian/Pacific Islander, an image showcasing cultural traditions or images reflective and inspired by the work of a writer or poet of the same ancestry as you. You will also be asked to include a profile photo, as well as 2 to 3 sentences about your image.
Artists will be provided a 32m x 32m space to create a 3D Exhibit to showcase and bring to light important issues or significant historical moments of their country of heritage.
The Open Air Market is for original mesh content creators to sell items that are reflective of their heritage, whether it is traditional food, clothing, accessories, etc. There is no cost to join; however, we do ask that you provide a free gift for visitors to share and celebrate your culture with others.
[Singers & DJs]
Throughout the course of the month, we will have live singers of Asian/Pacific Islander heritage to share their talent on our stage. We will also have various parties because the festival is a celebration.
We will invite residents to submit their favorite traditional food, and we will create a recipe book available online. In addition, if the food item exists in Second Life, we will photograph it to include as part of the book. The layout will be similar to this: https://issuu.com/eclipsemagazinesl/docs/cookie_swap_recipe_book
